A New Chapter in The Truth Encounter

Greetings Everyone!

I am writing to let you know about two very important updates for our Truth Encounter Community.

As you know, it has been my vision to continue the biblical worldview work that God began in my life years ago, beginning with New Geneva Seminary, Summit Ministries, the Truth Project, Cross Examine, Who Is Jesus and other worldview teaching, including the new release February 23 of the film, “Is Genesis History”. Launching this site was a big step in our ongoing work. And now, we are taking another big step. Let me share the details.

I'm very excited to announce that Marc Fey, who led The Truth Project team with me at Focus on the Family, has joined me full-time to help us realize the dream God laid on my heart in 1992. As the team leader, Marc was instrumental in developing and launching the project, including our work with Cold Water Media to produce the DVD content, develop website resources and conference trainings and manage our relationships with Truth Project leaders, partners, and key organizations.

This is indeed a pivotal time for us, and I am thrilled to be reunited with Marc to build what we pray will be God's movement in the hearts and minds of His people--on His terms and for His glory.

Second, with Marc's addition to our team, you should expect regular communication from Marc and me, updating you on our progress with The Engagement Project and The Restoration Project, the next two series to follow-up the worldview teaching we have done up to this point. After many years of stops and starts, it appears God is moving people and resources into place for us to resume in a more concentrated and strategic manner the work of The Truth Encounter.

So, with me please welcome Marc back to the team. And more importantly, please consider renewing your prayer efforts for God's work through each of us, for we all have an important role to play in realizing this God-inspired vision-- a movement in and through God's people in our generation.

Pray, Remnant, Tuesdays Noon Eastern, for Revival and Repentance
It is past time for those who call upon the Lord, to call upon the Lord. If God prompts you, let’s take a few minutes to begin to pray together, on Tuesdays at noon, eastern, for repentance and revival in our land. Wouldn't it be something if the totality of God's people were humbling themselves before God together with one voice at the same time all over our land.  It is important, however, to recognize that God is the one who grants repentance: "...in the hope that God will grant them repentance and they will come to their senses and escape the trap of the devil who has taken them captive to do his will.” (2 Timothy 2:14-16) So, we must ask Him, yea plead with Him, to grant our culture repentance and that we might "come to our senses". This may mean that He will first need to bring us to our knees through tragedy or dire circumstances, but repentance is what we desperately need. May we be like Ninevah, who, as a nation, repented before God and He relented from the judgment that was due to them. Pray for personal revival and repentance: Confession of our sin of selfishness, all about me, all about my script; pride and control; complaining and whining; faithlessness and hopelessness; sins that entangle my life; sins that build barriers between me and others; apathy; laziness and procrastination; wasting time; busyness and chasing after worthless activities; addictions; lack of joy and love and peace and patience; coolness in my hunger for God. Pray for a revival of my heart and soul and mind; for the Spirit of God to breathe upon me. Pray for national revival and repentance: Confession of our corporate sin of the slaughter of millions of babies and the casual selling of their severed bodies; for the sin of sexual immorality—in our laws, in our arts and media, movies and music; for the sin of theft and murder and lawless crime ravaging our streets and cities; for the sin of lust for drugs, for sex, for money, for power; for the sin of rebellion and tyranny in government; for our nation rejecting God. Pray for revival in our marriages, in our families, in our neighborhoods, in our businesses, in our pulpits and congregations, in our governors, in our state and federal governments. May the Lord be gracious and merciful to us and turn the heart of our nation back to Him. Pray for the unity and revival of the Remnant: Pray that God would breathe on our dry bones; that He would pull us together; that we would stand in the face of persecution; that we would be blameless before God and man; that we would encourage each other, pray for one another, love each other as Jesus prayed we would and that the world would know Him to be the Son of God because of our oneness in Christ; that we would be the light and salt we were meant to be; that God would raise us up for such a time as this. All for His Glory. Soli Deo Gloria!

Grand Canyon Filming 1
I have rafted down the Grand Canyon twice and been to the rim numerous times, but it still takes my breath away. This is our third day here and we finally made it up to the eastern end of the South Rim. Tom is manning one camera out on the point. We are with Dr. Steve Austin, an incredibly smart geologist who has spent years below the rim studying nautiloid fossils and other features in this amazing place. Beyond the beauty, however, the Grand Canyon gives us the unique opportunity to see a stark display of sedimentary layers…layers that are found all over the world. They sit on top of a bed of metamorphic rock and extend, in some places, upward for three miles. The odds are you are standing on massive layers of sediment right now. The conventional story that is told in our schools and universities and even the signs in the National Parks is that all of this was formed over millions and millions of years by slow, gradual processes. The problem is that the evidence doesn’t match that story. We saw at Mt. St. Helens how complex geological formations can appear in a matter of hours or days. Even conventional geologists are beginning to look more toward a “catastrophic” answer to what they see, not only in the Grand Canyon, but around the world. Dr. Austin is one of many scientists that are finding that the history recorded in Genesis is accurate and gives us a true basis for understanding the geological story that is recorded in the earth. In the next few days, we will look at a some of that evidence. [Previous] [Next]
